I give silicon
a heartbeat.

I work with a schematic open on one screen and a logic analyzer on the other. I write firmware in C, tools in Python, and logic in VHDL, and I enjoy the moment a stubborn board finally cooperates. Currently working as a Production Engineer at Evertz, making sure the hardware, firmware, and software behind broadcast and networking platforms actually work before they ship.

01 Profile

Close to the metal.
Obsessed with the signal.

Embedded systems engineer with 3+ years of hands-on work at the board level, debugging and validating the hardware, firmware and software inside advanced broadcast and networking platforms.

I think in layers: the code above, the copper below, and the signal running between them. With a schematic, datasheet, and a scope, I’ll chase a problem from the serial console all the way down to a single solder joint, then write the Python test that makes sure it never sneaks past again.

My background is in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, followed by a postgraduate program in Electronics & Embedded Systems Development. That’s where C/C++, VHDL on Xilinx Vivado, SPI and I²C became everyday tools. My hands-on experience goes from PLC controllers to high-speed digital boards, and even a 110 kV substation, so I’ve seen hardware at every scale, from tiny signals to serious power.

Now — Production Engineer, Evertz · Burlington, ON

How I work the signal chain

  1. 01

    Read the design

Schematics, datasheets and timing diagrams come first, in PADS, ViseCAD and Vivado.

  2. 02

    Write the code

C/C++ close to the metal, VHDL when the logic belongs in hardware, Python for everything around it.

  3. 03

    Probe the signal

Scope and logic analyzer on SPI, I²C and high-speed lines until the waveform tells the truth.

  4. 04

    Prove it ships

Automated validation, conformance and clean documentation, so the fix survives the factory floor.

02 Experience

From 110 kV
down to 3.3 V.

A career that started in a high-voltage substation and has moved steadily closer to the silicon.
